Each autumn, wild geese descend on Lindisfarne Natural Nature Reserve after a long migration from the Arctic North, some travelling over 2,700km to reach the region. We will be holding various events across the Reserve including two sunrise Dawn Chorus events at Budle Bay as well as a family-friendly programme of nature-based activities. Scroll down for more information including times and locations of individual events.
Come and join us at the Window on Wild Lindisfarne building, Holy Island where we will be chatting all things geese. Meet the geese who migrate to Lindisfarne NNR including up to 10,000 Pink-footed Geese and 4,500 Brent Geese. Crafts and games for all the family. Free event and no need to book.
 Â
Thousands of geese roost overnight on the sands and mud flats of Budle Bay as it is a safe haven for them away from predators and disturbance. Come down to the Budle Bay platform at the white railings to see the incredible dawn flight of the geese as they move off to graze local fields. Look out for the LNNR flag. Free, no booking required.
